As one of the most popular places in the world to tie the knot, it’s no surprise that tens of thousands of people visit the city each year to get hitched and live (we hope) happily ever after. In fact, according to Wikipedia, Clark County marriage licenses account for over 5% of all the licenses issued in the entire United States, which indicates to us that Vegas must be one helluva cool place to say your vows. In this article, we’ll take a look at what’s required to get married in Vegas, and also the best places to do it.
How to Get a Marriage License:
All marriage licenses are issued by the Clark County Marriage Bureau and you’ll be required to get this before you can get married. The bureau offers a pre-application form online that allows you to submit all the required information beforehand so you can expedite the process and simply go in to pick up your license. The cost of a marriage license at present in Clark County is $77 USD and the proof of marriage (Certified Marriage Certificate) costs $15 USD. In order to receive a license, you’ll need:
- To be 18 years of age and older and not already married (obviously!)
- For US citizens, you’ll have to supply your Social Security number on the forms
- For Non-US citizens, ID in the form of passport or driver’s license is acceptable
The Clark Country Marriage Bureau is open 365 days per year from 8:00AM to 12:00AM.
What Happens after You’ve Got the License?
Once you’ve been approved and have your license in hand, you are good to go and can legally get married, so the next step would be finding an appropriate place you want to hold the ceremony. Fortunately for you, there are hundreds if not thousands of places to do this in Vegas ranging from traditional to themed weddings, and pretty much anything you can imagine under the sun.
